BayBio Becomes SACTO’s Newest Neighbor

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) is pleased to announce that BayBio is opening an office in the Sacramento Region. The new location will provide a base to facilitate policy advocacy programs and to expand its membership in the area. BayBio, based in South San Francisco, is Northern California’s life science association. With more than 350 member organizations, BayBio assists the bioscience community through advocacy, enterprise support and the enhancement of research collaboration. SACTO and BayBio frequently team up to market Northern California at conferences throughout the U.S., as part of SACTO’s recruitment and expansion efforts. “BayBio is a valued partner in SACTO’s efforts to grow the life science and biotech industries in the Greater Sacramento Area,” stated Jeff Koewler, SACTO Chair. “Having an organizational presence in the region will, no doubt, strengthen future collaboration.”

SACTO, a member of BayBio, has been working with the association during the last year to find an ideal location in the Sacramento Region. They chose the Wells Fargo Building, located at 400 Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento, and will be utilizing suite space managed by Weintraub Genshlea Chediak. The location will allow easy access to the Capitol and state agency headquarters, as well as the opportunity to work with members in the region. “We are pleased to be able to partner with BayBio to strengthen their presence in the Sacramento Region,” said Gary Bradus, Managing Partner of Weintraub Genshlea Chediak.

Matt Gardner, BayBio’s Executive Director, was an integral part of the decision to locate in Sacramento. “BayBio is very bullish on the life sciences growth prospects for the Sacramento Region. With investments being made by UC Davis and rapid growth in company start-up activity, there is a lot to look forward to – this is only a beginning.”
