Mori Seiki Reaches Agreement with Property Owner
Mori Seiki Co. Ltd. has confirmed to the City of Davis that it has received an agreeable offer with the property owner for acquisition of land on Faraday Drive in Davis, California and is planning to move forward with the project. Mori Seiki, an international machine tool manufacturing company has been seeking a location to construct its first manufacturing facility in the United States.
The site is adjacent to Digital Technology Labs, (DTL) an innovation center for the Mori Seiki. The facility would manufacture a range of machines, including energy conserving products, for distribution in California, U.S. or abroad. Expected production of 100 machines per month is estimated to gross over $115 million per year. At full production, it would employ approximately 150 people.
Davis Mayor Don Saylor states "We are excited about continuing progress and look forward to more positive announcements."
