Nippon Shokken U.S.A. Selects City of West Sacramento for its New U.S. Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility

Sacramento, Calif.—March 17, 2011–The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO), Grubb & Ellis Company, and the City of West Sacramento jointly announced today that Nippon Shokken U.S.A. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Shokken Holdings Co., Ltd., will construct a new 70,000-square-foot building that will be the home of its U.S. headquarters, research and development operations, and manufacturing plant. Nippon Shokken U.S.A. Inc. recently closed escrow on 10 acres in the Southport Business Park in the City of West Sacramento. The company will ultimately bring 100 new jobs to the Sacramento Region.

Nippon Shokken U.S.A. is an importer and manufacturer of blended seasoning products. The Sacramento Region was chosen for its abundant, high-quality water supply, the support it received from the City of West Sacramento and other regional partners, Sacramento’s central location in California, and the region’s strong employment base. Additionally, the company’s new location is within an Enterprise Zone, which also allows the company access to associated benefits to support its operations.

“We are pleased to welcome Nippon Shokken U.S.A. to the Sacramento Region. The company’s location in the region will have a significant impact on our economy and we look forward to our continued partnership with the company as it gets established and grows in the region,” said Brice W. Harris, Chair of SACTO’s Board of Directors.

SACTO would like to thank Senior Vice President Matt Cologna with Grubb & Ellis Company, Mayor Christopher Cabaldon and Diane Richards from the City of West Sacramento, and Senior Vice President Mike Lyons with CB Richard Ellis for helping the company land at this location.
