Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) Announces
New Company Locations and Expansions in the Sacramento Region and Celebrates Regional Successes
Sacramento, Calif., March 3, 2011—SACTO welcomed and honored eight companies that have located or expanded in the Sacramento Region over the past year at its annual Salute to New Industry luncheon held on March 1, 2011. Honored companies included: Aero Union Corporation; Harris & Bruno International; Mori Seiki; Mounting Systems; RagingWire Enterprise Solutions, Inc.; RIOS Solar Energy Inc.; Siemens Mobility; and SMA America, LLC. These companies will bring 900 new direct jobs and, through the ripple effect, are expected to contribute a total of over 2,100 jobs, $540 million in output, $141 million in new employee compensation, and $20 million in state and local tax revenue to the region’s economy. Seven of the eight companies are classified as high value, and 62 percent the new jobs created are related to the clean energy technology sector.
This year, SACTO partnered with PG&E and SMUD to introduce a new awards program called the SACTO Capstone Awards. Consisting of two awards—Powering Prosperity and Powering Innovation—this program celebrates regional successes and builds pride and awareness of exciting developments in the region. The awards recognize visionary leadership by organizations and individuals that are advancing the Sacramento Region’s prosperous and sustainable future. Sponsored by PG&E, the Powering Prosperity award was presented to Bogle Vineyards for its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability in achieving excellence within the wine industry and its ongoing investment in the Sacramento Region. The SMUD-sponsored Powering Innovation award was presented to Micron Technology, Inc. for its entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to advancing innovation in the region while utilizing state-of-the-art energy-saving technologies.
