TWO NATIONAL FIRMS SELECT SACRAMENTO REGION

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO) announced today that two national companies have selected the Sacramento Region in which to open their newest facilities.

Headquartered in Redmond, Washington, GeoEngineers, Inc. is an engineering firm providing geoscience and engineering services to clients worldwide. Founded in 1980, the Sacramento office is the 15th location nationally for the company. The search for a location started with sites in the San Francisco Bay Area and ended with a lease being signed in the Cal Expo area of the city of Sacramento. The company, led in the Sacramento area by Terry Parks, will begin operations with 10 employees and has plans to expand very quickly in the market. Special thanks to the California Business Investment Services (CalBIS) team for their assistance.

TwinMed, a national distributor of medical supplies, headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California, has leased 40,000 square feet in the Natomas area of Sacramento. The company, with locations in Southern California, Indiana, Illinois, New York and Texas, needed to have a Northern California presence due to their growing market activity.

“We have received an excellent reception from the city of Sacramento and SACTO,” stated Vusa Mabhena, Director of Operations for TwinMed. “The growth of the Sacramento Region, the Central Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area was the major driver for our expansion decision. The Sacramento Region allows us to serve all these geographic areas efficiently and effectively.”

“We are excited that GeoEngineers and TwinMed have chosen the Sacramento Region for their newest locations,” stated Jeff Koewler, SACTO Chair. “These companies represent yet more examples of how firms operating in major U.S. markets, now consider the Sacramento Region on that level, as part of their strategic business plan.”

SACTO would like to acknowledge the support and assistance of Bryce McDonald of Grubb & Ellis, the staff in the city of Sacramento’s Economic Development Department and the team from CalBIS.
